Sant'Angelo bridge, closed to the traffic, is an impressive, privileged access to the castle. Standing on the bridge, you are at the cross roads of history: behind you is medieval Rome with its piazzas; in front of you is the Emperor Hadrian's mausoleum and the monumental mass of Castel Sant'Angelo; to the left, you see St. Peter's Dome; to the right is the Ponte Umberto I and the Palace of Justice symbols of Rome, the modern capital.
The structure is by the river Tiber, at few meters from St. Peter in a inestimable historical site and offers a view considered among the most beautiful of the world.
This is also the set where Puccini imagined his famous opera Tosca and it is also the set for novel Angels & Demons by Dan Brown.
The space available for a dinner is "Il Giretto Coperto", a porch covered by a glass. It is located on the 4th floor ensuring a stunning panorama.
The idea is to set up the events that usually takes place here in the various areas of the castle. During summer an uninterrupted series of live performances will take place every night in the wonderful frame of Castel Sant'Angelo: jugglers and puppeteers, cabaret and mime, theatrical sketches (comic theatre, prose and musical), folk music, art crafts shows. Celebrating a star - even more reasons to visit Austria, by WELCOME TOURISTIC VIENNA
In 2009, the music world around the globe will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of Joseph Haydn. Haydn started his career as a member of the Vienna Boys' Choir in Vienna, the city to which he also returned after working for the Princes Esterházy in today's Burgenland and Hungary.
Who is Joseph Haydn? His contemporaries would have found that an easy question to answer: At the time he was the greatest, most famous, and most eminent composer of his era. Today, he has been overshadowed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to whom he was a fatherly friend, and Ludwig van Beethoven, one of his pupils.
A Star in Great Britain
For 5000 guilders, Haydn agreed to compose 27 pieces for London concert manager Johann Peter Salomon and to have them performed in concerts, conducting them himself. When Mozart expressed reservations that Haydn did not even speak English, he said: "My music is understood in all the world!"
Vienna is celebrating with several concerts and exhibitions e.g. the "Haydn's Works" in the inner courtyard of the House of Musik. Haydns Opera "Il Mondo della Luna" at the Theater an der Wien and several concert series in the most beautiful concert halls of Vienna.
The magnificent atmosphere of the palace entices the visitors into going on a fascinating journey into the world of the Esterházy family where Haydn startet his international career before going to London and Paris.
The exhibition "Be a guest at the Esterházy Court" imparts a vivid insight into the life and activities of the princes and their families. Numberous concerts are performed at the baroque hall but even a stroll through the lovely baroque city of Eisenstadt is worth a visit.

New Orleans is still the city for festivals, explains our member there CUSTOMS CONVENTIONS
New Orleans continues to attract record numbers of people due to the many fun festivals the city has. We start with Mardi Gras which attracted some 1 million people bringing it back to pre Katrina levels. Mardi Gras was followed by the French Quarter Festival which is one of the most unique as the entire French Quarter turns into a free show with music stages in the small streets and food booths surrounding Jackson Square, This is followed by the largest Jazz Festival in the USA.
The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage festival celebrated its 40th anniversary and due to the beautiful sights attracted pre-Katrina numbers on the two weekends it was held.
